We are pleased to announce our latest investment in Cambridge Touch Technologies, a University of Cambridge spinout specialising in touch and force-sending technologies, as part of a Series C funding round.

Cambridge Touch Technologies (CTT) has developed UltraTouch, a cutting-edge technology that combines multi-touch and force-sending capabilities. It uses a passive piezoelectric film that generates electrical signals when pressed, without requiring additional power. Sophisticated algorithms and AI decode these signals to determine touch location and force in real-time.

UltraTouch offers several advantages, including low-power consumption, versatility in various environments (such as rain or dust), and compatibility with mainstream touch architectures. It can detect multiple touches simultaneously and works with different input methods, like bare fingers or gloves. This technology is suitable for a wide range of applications, from consumer electronics to industrial systems, due to its rapid response and adaptability.

Cambridge Touch moved to a state-of-the-art new facility in April 2023 in order to further boost CTT’s ability to support its customers as they bring products to market with advanced human-machine interfaces (HMI), based on the company’s unique UltraTouch technology. The company is working closely with customers around the world, on projects spanning consumer electronics, industrial and automotive markets and continues to expand its team.
