We are delighted to announce that the University of Cambridge Enterprise Fund V has invested in a £1.5 million seed funding round (alongside an additional £600k Innovate UK grant) in to Echion Technologies, a spin-out from the University of Cambridge Engineering Department.

Echion is commercialising superfast charging lithium-ion battery cells for electric vehicles, and is seeking to demonstrate vehicle-ready battery cells within the next 18 months. The core technology is based on novel active materials enabling safe battery fast-charging with no compromise on battery energy density or cost.
