Covatic is developing a decision engine to enable a unique, personalised television and radio experience. The technology incorporates linked data and semantic reasoning. Currently content is largely still delivered on a “by appointment” basis and data is generated, via Nielsen or BARB, post transmission. Covatic offers a decision engine that will select the most appropriate content for a consumer in the format they require for their device of choice at the required viewing time. This will allow the content to be handed to a delivery network via an API. In turn this will allow the system to identify the content and user, follow broadcaster rules on content, monitor external factors such as weather and develop dynamic user profiles.
